Windle Wombles are an Explorer Scout unit in St Helens. Explorer Units are the fourth Section of the Scouting family after Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Explorer Scouts are young people aged between 14 and 18 years old.  There is flexibility in the age range:  young people can join from age 13½ but cannot move to Scout Network until 18.

Leadership Team

The leadership team for our unit consists of 2 main leaders and a further support team of Network members and occasional helpers.

We also have the honorary position of Unit Chief. This honor belongs to Alan Savery, founder of the Windle Wombles Explorer Scout Unit, who sadly passed away on Christmas Eve 2010.
